“One of Them Days” Movie Review

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when two best friends face an eviction notice and embark on a wild chase to beat the clock, get ready for a ride! The new comedy film “One of Them Days”, starring Keke Palmer and SZA, follows the two for an unforgettable day.
When best friends and roommates, Dreux and Alyssa, find out that Alyssa’s boyfriend took the money to pay the rent, they must find the money and pay up before they face eviction. This comedy is packed with laughter and unexpected twists, making it the perfect film to enjoy with friends and loved ones for a fun time at the theater.
This is SZA’s debut role in a film and I was overjoyed with her performance. The chemistry between all the actors played out well and it reminded me of a modern version of “Friday”. The direction and production were flawless, thanks to the incredible Issa Rae, best known for starring in the hit TV show Insecure. Keke Palmer is a true triple threat. With over 20 years in the industry, she carried the film with her comedic timing and undeniable talent.
One of the standout features of “One of Them Days” is its ability to blend humor with heartfelt moments. Making it more than just a comedy—it’s a celebration of friendship.
Jairus Harris, a junior baseball player at Clark says, “One of them days was a movie comedy about female empowerment. It showed characters SZA and Keke Palmer going through hardships and trying to find solutions to solve them. All in all, it was a great movie that showed how successful women can be when they take action and set focus on their dreams and goals.”
The movie presents a refreshing take on self-discovery, it reminds us that sometimes, the hardest days can teach us the most valuable lessons.
For anyone looking for a film that combines humor, depth, and authentic characters, "One of Them Days" is a must-watch.
